let’s Paint the town red…

BBS takes pride in delivering beauty to the world. Large public displays of art can be one of the most exciting ways to do this. We specialize in bright, colorful, imaginative work from corporate to residential. We have had the pleasure of covering public exterior city buildings and private interior wine rooms. Our creative team takes the time to understand your vision so we can create a design mock up you. We digitally impose this image into an image of your wall so the path is clear to a mural you can be proud of.

BBS uses a combination of mixed media including, brush paint, airbrush, spray paint, sponge and stencil. No matter the style and look we can deliver what you need.

Our current project is with a company named Lola’s. Lola’s will be the hot spot to host events downtown. It has been a pleasure to create a bundle of creative content for them including: branding/logo, exterior mural (50 ft. x 10 ft.), front signage and an interior mural. Below shows the mock up design and progress. This mural is designed to serve several purposes. First it is an advertisement and communicates the potential uses, and the second goal was to create a piece that would inspire community pride. It needed to be eye catching without being brash and unfitting with it’s surrounding environment (being across the street from the courthouse.) When the rest of the project is finished we will update this page.

BBS was contracted to create a series of billboards for The Springs Church. This was an excellent solution for their marketing stragegy because the corner of their building was visible from the freeway. These billboards were 32 ft x 16 ft and caught a lot of attention.

Every live event needs a sensational backdrop. The Desperation Band is a passionate group of highly talented musicians. When they decided to create a live concert music video and had to have a dynamic backdrop. When they asked us to create paint fabric panels it was an easy yes. The live concert film "Everyone Overcome" can be seen below.

Every custom residential project requires imagination and ingenuity. The projects seen below were contracted through Artisan Decorative Finishes and were a collaborative work. The first is a Colorado rockies sunset in a home theater room of a deluxe cabin in Keystone, CO. The second is a French wine cellar for a passionate connoisseur in Colorado Springs, CO.

PROCESS

We begin with research and a discussion to laser in on the message, vision and purpose you want to communicate. That message will build into concepts, feelings, composition and eventually an illustrated concept design. Our designers impose the concept illustration into an image of the wall space to be painted. Together we move go through a few rounds of revisions to perfect the design. Once the concept design is finalized we preparing the wall. Every surface is unique to prepare. This may be easy and need only primer, however some circumstances require chemicals and pressure washing. Then we would begin the line work using led projector, a grid system or freehand. Once this is finished we would prime the surface appropiately. We often tint the primer with the base colors of the mural to serve as an under painting. Then we would brush/roll paint on top of this base with acrylic paint using a wet on wet blending technique. After this has been cured we would airbrush with acrylic paint to create further texture and detail in the mural. The airbrush will create beautiful blending and shading. Finally we would seal the painting with whatever coating is fitting from the setting, exterior murals should consider anti-graffiti clear sealant.
